Pete Gilbert

I am interested in Pete Gilberts work because of his creative process and how he captures feelings in his paintings. Gilbert uses bold colours to capture not just a moment of a screenshot of a landscape but the feel of the landscape. I am trying within my paintings to put across the feeling I get when in the Lake District. Pete Gilbert spends a lot of time observing his chosen landscape, doing observation studies using watercolours and pastels to capture the different moments. He takes the studies to his studio, and creates acrylic and oil paintings. I adopted this process when doing my work.
